BRIDGEWATER GRANGE

The Bridgewater Grange was founded in 1901 and was a vital agricultural and social organization in Bridgewater, CT that fostered community ties. The 1850s-era Grange Hall, formerly a school and town hall, served as its home for over a century before it was removed in 2022. The footprint of the original grange building is defined by a double band of granite with a symbolic circular form in the center recalling the building’s use as an important gathering and meeting space. Additional space within the property was defined to allow for programming of outdoor events and shaded seating areas provide a welcoming space, continuing the spirit of the original grange.
